Murfreesboro’s Newest Jiu Jitsu School is Doing Something Different

A different kind of Brazilian jiu jitsu school. Built on making jiu jitsu accessible to more people. At Beacon, we’re ditching the chaos of tough-guy gyms and replacing it with an amazing culture, and a team that teaches the art in a truly organized way.

For beginners, we have the BEST beginner program in Murfreesboro. A 5-week course, taught alongside other beginners, covering all the positions and core concepts of the art.

Why We’re Different

We’re laying the groundwork of our new academy on three pillars

01

Accessibility

Jiu jitsu shouldn’t only be for people who are at their physical peak. We teach and train in a way that is scalable and sustainable.

02

Structure

We give our students a real roadmap for their progress with a system that is organized, while leaving space for everyone to develop their own personal style of jiu jitsu.

03

Culture

We’re intentional about creating a great community, where you’ll meet cool people and make real friendships. No cliques, no politics, and no drama.

We use a system to go further, faster.

Most jiu-jitsu schools are disorganized. Students struggle to assemble a patch work of techniques, often without a broad view of what their goals should be as a new player.

We’re solving this by creating a methodology that organizes jiu jitsu, so you have clear path to navigate the art

A School with a Story

“Get in loser, we’re starting our own school.”

We’ve been through a lot, and it’s a part of our story. But we’re more excited about where we’re going next.

★★★★★

I have had the privilege of training under Coach Louie for a while, and his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and dedication to his students are truly exceptional. His teaching style is both technical and engaging, making it easy to learn and grow in the sport.

Beyond his instruction, Louie fosters an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and family-friendly—something that can be hard to find in the area. His commitment to creating a wholesome and positive training space is evident in everything he does. I highly recommend training with him to anyone looking for quality coaching in a great atmosphere.

Technical, Progressive Jiu Jitsu . . .

We teach modern jiu jitsu that is innovative and forward thinking. Our instructors are articulate and can take complex ideas and simplify them. You’ll find us teaching new positions and trends in the meta of jiu jitsu.

A Rad Culture

We’re having fun. Jiu Jitsu takes itself too seriously sometimes. We play music. We’re not heavy on etiquette, or titles. Most importantly, we have a culture of positivity and safe training.

. . .That Respects the Fundamentals.

Many elements of jiu jitsu will never change. We ground students practical basics that have stood the test of time. We don’t poo-poo old school jiu jitsu. In fact, we teach it.

We Meet You Where You’re At.

90% of jiu jitsu people are recreational. We are people with jobs, families, and bodies that need to stay healthy. We don’t celebrate “pushing ourselves past the limit.” Just doing jiu jitsu is hard!

Concepts Over Techniques

Modern jiu jitsu has more techniques than ever before. We focus on giving new students frameworks and concepts that give them clarity and keep them from “drowning in options.”

Rank Transparency

Progression in jiu jitsu shouldn’t be a mystery or a taboo subject. We’re upfront about how we organize belts, stripes, and promotions. You’ll always know the next step in your journey
